Sweet Eternal Heaven

The elegance of a single candle, burning in a dark room
The beauty of a sunset over the ocean

The vastness of rolling hills, stretching for miles
The splendor of mountains lining the horizon

The loveliness of fragrant flowers, floating through an open window
The majesty of giant trees touching the sky

The gentle sound of a river, happily bubbling down smooth rocks
The power of a mighty waterfall, roaring and rushing white froth

The peace of a starry night, sleeping safely under a tent
The warmth of a sunny day, dozing on the beach

The gentle embrace of a warm blanket, on a bitter cold day
The refreshing splash of water in the dead of summer

The serenity of a winter landscape, frozen in time
The vibrance of a spring morning, renewed with life

How do we experience all of the glory of this creation?
How do we express our thanks for this magnificent world?

Instead I ask, How can we fathom the greatness of our true home?
How can we imagine the grandeur of heaven?

All these things and much, much more
The beauty and life of Earth will be present
But the unconditional love of our Heavenly Father
The brotherhood of millions of His children
All of us perfect through Him, how can we know?

Oh, that I could comprehend the wonder of my Savior's works
He who went to prepare a place for us
We shall stand in awe at His glory, and tremble at His power
His deity we shall never deny, His greatness we shall never forget

And the home which He has made for us
Shall always reflect His love and forgiveness
With all the majesty and splendor of this present world
On a backdrop of unfathomable beauty

The simple pleasures of Time,
With the timelessness of never-ending peace and joy
All in a future without time

Even the apostle could not utter the things which he had seen
And had to live his days with the knowledge of that place

So then we must wait until our Father calls
Then we can live each day in His sweet eternal heaven
